Do you find it strange that there is a national registry of people that have kept off 30 lbs. for a year or longer?
I sure do.
There are literally so few people that have succeeded in that monumental task that Harvard wants to track and study every single one of them.
Their own website says they’re tracking 10,000 individuals.
Whoooptydoo.
That’s like the number of people in one small college.
To be fair, there are probably a lot of people like me that have kept off over 30 lbs. for many years that have never considered putting themselves on the list.
But STILL… we’re not talking about very many people here.
As you already know in the back of your mind, it’s really NOT your fault!
The entire diet industry is broken.
And think about it…it actually is dependent upon and thrives on failure…
I’m not going to get into conspiracy theories here but…
Dear lord, the entire industry is totally effed-up.
And to top off how messed up the industry is… 99% of the diets out there make things way worse for the individuals that try them.
Here’s why…
Most diets fail to balance your hormonal drivers of cravings (blood sugar is the big one, but there are many)…
Most diets fail to eliminate common allergens, which then results in nagging, gnawing hunger feelings…
Most diets fail to infuse the body with healing micronutrients (which leaves you in a constant state of hunger and cravings)…
Most diets have zero personalized coaching and take a one-size-fits-all (no pun intended) approach…
And if all of that wasn’t enough to make it nearly impossible to succeed in losing weight on a typical “diet”…
Even if they were to get all the above right (which I’ve seen exactly ONE other plan do, minus offering any coaching or customizing it for real life)…
They almost all fail to address the emotional drivers of overeating, which 100% has to be done for ANY weight loss to be sustainable.
And the few plans that I’ve seen that do address emotional eating don’t teach sound nutrition strategies.
Phew…that rant ended up longer than I expected, but someone has to be the voice of reason around here!
If you want to join the plan that succeeds in all of the places that the rest fail and finally take care of this once and for all, jump on the wait list for the next Wild Woman program.
Blessings in health and sanity around food, body, and dieting!
